About Todd

Dr. Todd Prickett serves as Artistic Director of the world-renowned Texas Boys Choir, a post he has held since 2022.  During his tenure, he has conducted regular season concerts, collaborated with Anima-Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus, Paris Boys Choir (Petits chanteurs de Sainte-Croix de Neuilly), Houston Boychoir, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. He has led annual concert tours, conducting concerts in Chicago, Illinois; St. Louis, Missouri; Honolulu, Hawaii; Athens, Greece; Paris, France; and, most recently all across the great state of Texas!

Todd earned his Doctor of Musical Arts from Michigan State University, Master of Music from Texas Christian University (TCU), and Bachelor of Music Education from TCU. His conducting mentors include Charles K. Smith, Jonathan Reed, David Rayl, and the late Ronald L. Shirey.

Previous roles include Conductor of the Youth Chorale for the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir, Director of Choral Studies at Indiana Univ.-Purdue Univ. Fort Wayne and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Arkansas. Choral ensembles under his direction have been invited performers for state, regional, national and international conferences, performing at major venues in Newfoundland, Toronto, San Diego, Indianapolis, and New York City.

He has been honored to premiere choral compositions by leading composers including K. Lee Scott, Augusta Read Thomas, TImothy Takach, Michael John Trotta, and Ola Gjeilo.

As a professional tenor, Todd sang in the Oregon Bach Festival Chorus under Helmuth Rilling from 2001-2008, including a recording of Haydn’s Heiligmesse for Hänssler Records and world premieres of works by Felix Mendelssohn and Tan Dun.

He also serves as Choirmaster and Director of Traditional Music at University Christian Church of Fort Worth where he conducts the Chancel Choir, UCC Bell Ringers (high school touring handbell choir), and the annual Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festival.
